works hard, year round, to bring designers, stylists, retailers, buyers, media and fashion enthusiasts together annually for a weekend of amazing fashion presentations, networking and social experiences, all while supporting a nonprofit organization. It takes a team of dedicated volunteers to help keep everything moving flawlessly!

ASSISTANT DIRECTOR OF PRODUCTION

GOAL:  Assist the Director of Production with generating and maintaining organized, smooth MKEFW productions while supporting the mission of the organization.

The duties will include, but not be limited to, the following:

  • Assist in overseeing a consistent and active production strategy.
  • Contribute expertise to help establish organizational production plans and initiatives.
  • Obtain proper signage to be used in conjunction with event(s).
  • Evaluate effectiveness of production initiatives both internally and externally and provide support to the production team as needed.
  • Establish security teams and security plans.
  • Obtain quotes from vendors (Such as staging, sound, lighting, etc)
  • Ensure a safe environment for all volunteers and attendees.
  • Ensure proper set up of facility.
  • Arrange transport of all production needs.
  • Establish a Front of House Manager and Back of House Manager, to ensure smooth flows throughout MKEFW event.
    • Front of House helps oversee:
      • Registration, Vending, VIP/Gallery, Swag Bag Filling/Placement when applicable.
    • Back of House helps oversee:
      • Ensuring clear walkways, Managing Designers/Models back stage, Quick Changes, Cueing  when applicable.
  • Ensure space is established and secured for privacy of all models.
  • Assist in the production of all MKEFW events.
  • Ensure smooth, proper production flows throughout event.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Skills and abilities preferred to succeed as Assistant Director of Production
  • Willing and able to act as an ambassador on MKEFW’s behalf.
  • Honesty, integrity and respect for others.
  • Strong team-builder and team player.
  • Leadership skills.
  • Direct experience developing and implementing team strategies.
  • Demonstrated interest in the fashion and non-profit/social responsibility sectors.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Comfortable working in a fluid environment and taking initiative.
  • Entrepreneurial drive and desire to play an integral role in MKEFW’s growth strategy.
  • Production experience in another organization, especially non-profit organizations.
  • Governance responsibilities.

DIRECTOR OF VOLUNTEERS

GOAL:  Generate and Maintain a strong volunteer/internship program that connects qualified interested individuals while supporting the mission of the organization.

The duties will include, but not be limited to, the following:

  • Identify and vet volunteers to serve at MKEFW events, such as:
    • Ushers
    • Front of House Volunteers
    • Back of House Volunteers
    • Dressers
    • Swag Bag Fillers
    • Floaters/Runners, etc
  • Create and support a strong volunteer/internship program that connects qualified interested individuals while supporting the mission of the organization.
  • Develop a strong recognition program.
  • Implement the onboarding, orientation and training plan.
  • Work in conjunction with Director of Production to ensure a smooth flow of event.
  • Assists Front of House Manager with checking in Designers, Models, Artists, and Volunteers at event.
  • Continually look for ways to strengthen the volunteer base in the local community
  • Community outreach.
  • Conduct annual assessment of all members.
  • Ensure there are enough volunteers before, during, and after the show.
  • Other duties as assigned
Skills and abilities preferred to succeed as Volunteer Engagement Coordinator

  • Demonstrated interest in the fashion and non-profit/social responsibility sectors.

  • Comfortable working in a fluid environment and taking initiative.
  • Entrepreneurial drive and desire to play an integral role in MKEFW’s growth strategy.
  • Governance responsibilities.

LEGAL ADVISOR

GOAL:   Ensure organization operates within legal boundaries and laws.

The duties will include, but not be limited to, the following:

  • Provide oversight on any activities that advance the organizations effectiveness and sustainability.
  • Ensure that the organization obeys applicable laws and acts in accordance with ethical practices.
  • Ensure that the organization adheres to its stated corporate purposes, including its policies and procedures and bylaws, and that its activities advance its mission.
  • Assist with HR/Contract Fulfillment related inquiries/duties
  • Educate as needed, to ensure the Board understands business related legalities.
  • Ensure conflicts of interest are communicated and offer suggestions on how to handle.
  • Communicate with PR/Marketing, Directors, and Board Members to help support company’s mission.
  • Create/Maintain documents
  • Other duties as necessary or needed.
Skills and abilities preferred to succeed as Legal Advisor
  • Fulfill required time commitment.
  • Willing and able to act as an ambassador on MKEFW’s behalf.
  • Honesty, integrity and respect for others.
  • Strong team-builder and team player.
  • Demonstrated interest is the non-profit/social responsibility sector.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Experience in state and federal laws and business practices, with high interest in Fashion and/or nonprofit organizations.
