Mode Uninhibited: Mount Mary CREO Show Does Not Disappoint
The cold and rainy weather didn’t stop people attending Mount Mary’s annual fashion show yesterday. The Mount Mary Fashion Showcase is produced by their merchandise management students, featuring three student showcases in one day. Each production encompassed incredible talent being shown in front of a full house. The theme for this years CREO show is “MODE Uninhibited: The Freedom to Create,” paired the French word for fashion with the idea of creating and manipulating fashion to suit one’s personal aesthetic.” per Mount Mary University.
Students showcased a wide array of designs, ranging from children’s wear, women’s wear, and menswear. We especially loved seeing the mix of sizes and ages involved this production! Fashion is for everyone, and it’s great to see that inclusion.
Dave Hathaway was in attendance on behalf of Milwaukee Fashion Week. As a photographer, part of his job is scoping out spaces and ensure lighting would be appropriate for stellar images. The owner of DRH Photography said, “The square center stage was different, so I wasn’t sure what to expect. But once they started, everything came together beautifully. The center stage helped keep the crowd (and photographers) on their toes.” Hathaway continued, “The students at Mount Mary did a remarkable production. The designers showcased some great work, and overall, it was a wonderful experience”.
Joaneirys Luciano, stylist and executive secretary of Milwaukee Fashion Week, also volunteered at the show as a dresser. Joaneirys said, “As a dresser, it’s my responsibility to make sure models are quickly dressed in their next garment, in the appropriate order, so they can get back out on that runway when they’re needed.” Luciano also stated that she “loved the show and the atmosphere backstage was amazing.”
Congratulations to Mount Mary on another successful year!
